Rapper, 21 Savage arrested by ICE, may be deported

Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph popularly known as 21 Savage has been arrested by U.S. immigration officials on Sunday, clamming the rapper was illegally in the country, also charged for a convicted felon.

According to reports; 21 Savage was convicted on felony drug charges in Georgia in 2014, and was arrested on Sunday as part of a targeted operation with the cooperation of local law enforcement.

21 Savage lawyer said;

“We are working diligently to get Mr. Abraham-Joseph out of detention while we work with authorities to clear up any misunderstanding,” she said, according to Variety.

An ICE official told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that when Abraham-Joseph was arrested in 2014, ICE was not aware of his immigration status. It only learned later that he is allegedly from the UK, the official said.
